Through demonstrations and practice exercises you will learn how to give and receive adjustments properly. You will experience how these adjustments feel to you as we work on one another giving you insight as to where the focus should be. This will improve your confidence and comfort level when working hands on with your students. You will be enhancing your students practice, improving their range of motion allowing them to stretch deeper and learn how to relax into their postures. This will leave your students filled with gratitude and appreciation for what you have done for them and make you a better teacher all around. | RAJA YOGA and MEDITATION with Sanjeev Gupta and Vijay Rambhatala Braintree Studio Cost: Free Registration: No Registration Needed. Just Walk In. Raja Yoga’s origins go back long before any written texts. It is the old system or science followed by the great rishis (seers) to help them in realizing the Self through meditation and associated practices. It was first introduced by a rishi who lived thousands of years ago. He discovered a practical method so people could evolve to their highest nature. Raja means royal or king. Raja Yoga means the King among Yoga systems. The mind is said to be the king of all the sense organs and, since this Yogic practice mainly deals with the mind, it is called Raja Yoga. It is in the mind that everything originates - first as a thought, then as an action. Therefore Raja Yoga mainly deals with the mind. It endeavors to restrain the tendencies of the mind from going out, (like the reins of a horse) and brings the mind to a state of perfect calmness, equilibrium or balance. Raja yoga meditation is generally based on directing the life force to bring the mind and emotions so into balance that the attention may be easily focused on the object of meditation. While your mind is not passive, it is free of meaningless thoughts, worries, and the bric-a-brac of the subconscious mind. This state usually gives you a sense of well being. Meditation alone can prepare the mind. Sahaj Marg (the natural or the simple way) is a natural and simple practice of raja yoga meditation simplified for modern day life and it follows the same principle of directing the life force to regulate the mind and helps one realize the ultimate potential within oneself. Once mind is regulated and past impressions are eradicated, material existence falls into its proper place, as does every facet of existence. Sanjeev and fellow mediators will highlight the benefits to understanding and using this form of raja yoga meditation for your well-being. If you experience stress of any kind in your daily life, or find it hard to focus your thoughts, learn and experience the relaxation and awareness that raja yoga can bring to you! |
